Morning Exploration and Learning
8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Children are warmly welcomed into the classroom, wash hands, and begin their day with free play, building friendships, and strengthening social-emotional skills.
Students engage in a variety of enriching activities, including circle time, songs, group games, yoga, music and movement, and storytelling. Lessons are connected to units of study and support language development in French and English, as well as pre-literacy and early math skills for Preschool and Pre-K.
Children also participate in hands-on project and discovery experiences such as art, crafts, science exploration, music, baking, and imaginative play. Outdoor play is incorporated daily with recess, along with a healthy organic snack to support energy and well-being.
Lunchtime
11:30 a.m. (Toddler) / 11:45 a.m. (Preschool) / 12 p.m. (Pre-K)
Students enjoy lunch brought from home in a calm and social setting. All children will nap or rest on their mats after lunchtime.
Transition, Snack, and Extended Outdoor Play
2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Children get a healthy snack to re-energize for the rest of the day. Children enjoy extended outdoor time and child-led activities that support creativity, independence, and social growth.
Aftercare and Flexible Pick-Up
3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Continued play, exploration, and social interaction in a relaxed environment. Parents may pick up at 3:30 p.m. or any time before 5:30 p.m.
Notes:
Circle: Games, songs, stories, dramatic play, exploration of themes (colors, animals, etc.), and language development occur in French.
Free play: Welcomes, transitions, and exploration time for the children. Many activities are available, choice is encouraged, and development of social skills is key during this loosely structured time.
Snack: Organic and locally grown snack provided.
Recess: Outside activities.
Table Time: Small group activities in each class, such as pre-literacy and pre-math, activities, games, or guided arts and crafts according to the weekly theme.
Lunch: Transition time. Students bring their own lunches. Early pick up between 12:15pm – 12:30pm.
Nap/Rest: Non-nappers are required to lay down and rest for 3o minutes and can engage in other quiet activities while nappers go to sleep. Teachers read stories during transition to nap/rest time.
